LTC and Mrs. William J. Wardrop, '71, Public Service Scholarship

In August of 2024, LTC and Mrs. William J. Wardrop, ’71, announced to The Citadel Foundation the intention to establish the endowed LTC and Mrs. William J. Wardrop, ’71, Public Service Scholarship. The primary purpose of the LTC and Mrs. William J. Wardrop, ’71, Public Service Scholarship is to provide financial resources to support cadets whose parent(s) are public service workers in fields such as the United States military (any branch), fire departments, law enforcement agencies, correctional facilities, emergency medical services, emergency management agencies, etc.; with first preference given to those residing outside the state of South Carolina. In years in which no enrolled students meet the geographic preference, the award shall be available to any cadet who meets the criteria, regardless of geographic location. The scholarship shall be available to incoming freshmen who have a high school GPA of 3.0, as well as upperclassmen who maintain a cumulative 3.0GPA while at The Citadel.
