John Everett Moore, M.D., Scholarship

The John Everett Moore, M.D., Scholarship was established in January 1998 by Mrs. J. Everett Moore (Fern Harris Moore) in honor of her son, Dr. John E. Moore, The Citadel Class of 1971. The purpose of the John Everett Moore, M.D., Scholarship is to provide resources to well-rounded cadets, including incoming freshmen. Prospective recipients will submit an essay to The Citadel’s Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships for review and vetting. Qualified candidate essays will then be provided to the Moore family for their review and recommendations. The final decision regarding recipients for the awards and award disbursement will be made by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, with the approval of the Moore family. In years in which no recommendation is made, the grant shall remain unspent and returned to the endowment. If at any time no member of the Moore family is available to review submissions and make recommendations, the scholarship shall be awarded at the discretion of Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships based on the preferences listed herein.
