BG Michael B. Barrett, USAR, '68, Military History Graduate Student Award
In August of 2022, Dr. Alfred J. Cianflocco, announced to The Citadel Foundation the intention to establish the BG Michael B. Barrett, USAR, ‘68, Military History Graduate Student Award. The primary purpose of the non-endowed BG Michael B. Barrett, USAR, ’68, Military History Graduate Student Award Jump Start is to provide financial resources to support graduate students pursuing the Master of Arts degree in Military History via The Citadel’s M.A. in Military History program, with the goal of offering an annual award of $2,000 per academic year. Eligible candidates shall be engaged in archival and manuscript research for their thesis or capstone seminar projects. Graduate students in the program who are traveling to libraries, archives, and other research institutions are eligible to apply for this grant to cover research expenses incurred, including but not limited to airfare, car rental, ground transportation, lodging, and direct research expenses such as scans, photocopies, etc. The application process and recipient selection shall be administered by the Program Director of The Citadel’s Master of Arts in Military History program. Award disbursement shall be made by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
