James S. "Jim" Watson, Jr., '63 Scholarship

In April of 2021, Mr. James S. Watson, Jr., ’63, announced to The Citadel Foundation the intention to establish the endowed James S. “Jim” Watson, Jr., ’63, Scholarship. The primary purpose of the James S. “Jim” Watson, Jr., ’63, Scholarship is to provide financial resources to support African American cadets, with first preference given to students who are graduates of Aiken High School, South Aiken High School, or any other high school located in the city of Aiken, South Carolina. In years in which no student meets the first preference, the scholarship is available to African American cadets who are graduates of any high school in Aiken County, South Carolina.
