Class of 1983 Memorial Fund for Assistance

In August of 2021, The Citadel Class of 1983 announced to The Citadel Foundation the intention to establish the endowed Class of 1983 Memorial Fund for Assistance. The primary purpose of the Class of 1983 Memorial Fund for Assistance is to provide financial resources to deserving students (either cadet or non-cadet), with first preference given to students who are direct descendants of graduates of The Citadel Class of 1983, who would not be financially able to graduate from The Citadel in the absence of financial assistance. In years in which no qualified candidates meet the legacy criteria, the award shall be available, with a preference given in the order of their class seniority, to cadets, including Corps Squad athletes, irrespective of a familial relationship with a member of the Class of 1983, who would not be able to graduate from The Citadel in the absence of financial assistance. In years in which no students meet either of the first two preferences, the award shall be available to students who would not be able to graduate from The Citadel in the absence of financial assistance. This fund shall be administered by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.
