CDR Mark D. Buffkin, CEC, USN, Ret., '83, Engineering Scholarship

In February of 2023, CDR Mark D. Buffkin, CEC, USN, Ret., ’83, announced to The Citadel Foundation the intention to establish the endowed CDR Mark D. Buffkin, CEC, USN, Ret., ’83, Engineering Scholarship. The primary purpose of the CDR Mark D. Buffkin, CEC, USN, Ret., ’83, Engineering Scholarship is to provide financial resources to support cadets from Florence County, South Carolina, who are majoring in engineering, with consideration given to financial need. In years in which no cadet from Florence County meets the geographic preference, the award shall be available to cadets majoring in engineering from the state of South Carolina, with consideration given to financial need. This award shall be available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who maintain at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA and display the traditionally high standards of The Citadel.
